If your roof has reached the end of its life or has developed a problem, how can you fix that problem? Knowing whether to get a roof repair or a replacement—or getting your roof torn off and getting a completely new installation—depends on the condition of your roof.
Roofworks Roofing & Solar can thoroughly inspect your roof to help you make the best decision for your needs. While a roof repair would be the least expensive option, it’s only feasible if the damage is localized and the rest of your roof is in good shape.
If your roof’s shingles have lost their granules or have a “wet” look to them, it’s time for a roof replacement. During a roof replacement, although your roof’s decking won’t be replaced, our team will professionally re-shingle your roof. Replacing the shingles on your roof allows you to protect your roof decking against rot and protect the structure for many more years to come.
If your roof’s decking has been impacted by moisture or rot, we can also do a completely new installation, which includes tearing off your old roof—including the deck—and rebuilding it from the studs up. While this option is more expensive, new roof decking will last for decades if the shingles are replaced in a timely manner after that.
Sometimes, sudden damage, rather than neglect, forces a homeowner to install a new roof. For example, if a big tree comes through your roof and impacts your existing roof structure, there’s typically no choice but to build a new roof. In this case, your homeowner’s insurance will typically cover this cost.
